A 30 day sprint! Are You Ready?

Business success is a marathon… pace yourself…
Intermediate goals however often require a sprint to help us get up the hill!
Whether it is a 90 day focus to a single blog, or a 30 day video challenge, or a 30 day blog post/content challenge…
Sprints, coupled with strong accountability… can help add some much needed fire to your business!
My first introduction to this was the 30 day video challenge I participated in as part of the TMI class I took. I actually can’t say I completed that challenge successfully but it definitely did it kickstart my use of video and get me comfortable with the technology.
It also made serious amounts of traction for my friends Beth Allen and Don Enck who completed it! Those two rockstars really came out of the gate shining by buckling down and sweating through the effort involved in the challenge!
My BFF, the Goddess known as Jacqueline Gates, had been going back and forth with the idea of starting a 30 day blogging challenge to get some extra fire built. Like anything that looks like work, we were both finding ourselves giving in to the temptation to procrastinate and squirm our way out of it till “maybe next week”. I don’t know about you but I have yet to see “next week” ever get here!
So yesterday we decided to bite the bullet and call “GAME ON”!!
The element of challenge must be in the air at the moment, as I saw SEVERAL posts in the last few days regarding people starting similar challenges. One of those is Amanda Marie who has some really awesome prizes shes going to be dishing up too!
Our goal mostly was new business content and to draw some of our traffic from Facebook back onto our blogs. Because our challenge and hers is very similar we may run hers as part of our own or some such. Honestly the mechanics don’t matter as long as the results are the same – new content… blog, ezine, articles, live events… that don’t draw traffic away from our blogs.
Many people that we see struggling to get traffic are blogging at the absolute bare minimum of once a week. Once a week is the amount you blog to not fall off the bicycle on a flat stretch of easy road. If you want to get up the hill, you have to put some muscle behind it and that means regular posting! No Excuses!
This is strictly honor system and we invite you to join us! Come share, participate, syndicate and lets have some fun as we set these blogs on fire over the next 30 days!
Kimberly
PS: Don’t give any worry to a late start, we’re more than happy to have you join us regardless, just bite the bullet and DO IT!

Am I understanding you correctly? Are you challenging me to create a post every day, in any form for 30 days? Print or movie or whatever? One a day! And we can’t use any old ones, we have to create new? If that’s what you’re saying, I’m in!!

That’s exactly what I’m challenging you to do! One a day, for 30 days (if you know your going to be gone a day, just pre-write and schedule it in wordpress). Print, Video etc for your blog.. or print for article marketing or either for guest blogging etc.
Yup, old stuff doesn’t count. (My old post promoter will continue to self-publish but I am not allowed to count it!)
Way to step up your game, girlfriend!

You go girl! You are suggesting a great idea here. Thanks for mentioning me in your post. I can say COMPLETING the 30 day video challenge was monumental for me but oh so worth it.
However, it is with sad regret (or just plain chicken) that I’m going to pass. With upcoming travel plans and so much else on my plate at the moment surviving with just 1 new post a week seems daunting at times. You can find me over on the sidelines with Pom Poms waving.

You and Beth were an incredibly powerful inspiration on the 30 day video challenge. I know you both struggled with the commitment but you stuck it out and shared the journey with us. That was powerful stuff!
Hey Kim!
Thanks for the shoutout! I totally agree that marketing success is a marathon but the occasional sprint is a great way to pump up your biz! I’m sure your community will greatly appreciate a challenge!
Thanks for all you do!

Thanks so much Amanda! It’s going to be a challenge but that’s what it takes to grow us! Glad to see you in the race too! Congrats on your recent victory over the evil J.O.B.!
Kimberly
Kim, I have to admit that I am one of those people you mentioned who make one or two posts per week. I would love to do more but between my ft job, trying to learn WordPress, figuring out SEO, tweaking my site and reading articles in both my field and about blogging/websites in general, I am swamped!
I would love to be a part of your challenge – I need something to push me to post more often. I know it will be difficult to post quality material every day, but I can still push for 4 or 5 times per week.

Yay! Khaleef, good to see you in! There’s always a never ending stream to what needs done! Fortunately pushing good content even if its not fully keyword laced, is very good for SEO. The regular updates to the blog tell Google to keep an eye on it. You may have to give yourself some permission to come back and work on keywords later if you find a post that needs adjusted. However, just the content spike is going to help you out in that department!
Kimberly
Thanks for the push, Kim. I will try my best to post quality content every day! Also, the tags on my fb wall are very inspiring. Now I want to make sure not to let up!

Kimberly,
I am loving the 30 Day Challenge, It has helped me reach my goals and be accountable, getting so many new readers and contacts from this challenge. You said it perfectly here:

It’s going to be a challenge that’s for sure! We both have some serious life challenge/commitments that will make this all the more “interesting”! They say it builds character and if that’s the case we’re going to have character in spades when this is over! Glad your here with me!
Kimberly
Kim here you go again causing trouble. No seriously this is a good call out. We need to get that fire going way to get out front and lay down the challenge!!

You know it! Someone’s got to make some trouble so it might as well be me right? Thanks for all your support! If we can drive strong traffic through the summertime lull, then we will be strongly positioned for the more active months!
I think this is a great idea to to help others kick start this “new” season for harvest! Most will be taking it easy BEcause it’s the hazy, lazy days of summer..BUT oh not I, not all of you! Great FUN…Lets Roll!

Awwww! Peter you’re the best! I appreciate your support and I commit to doing my best to teaching you lots of social media good stuff!
OK, this is a little scary, but I’ll jump in starting today! One post a day. I usually skip weekends, so this’ll be interesting.
Yay! Welcome! If you’re on Facebook, can you either add me as a friend or point me to your Facebook page so I can “like” it so I can tag you when I share all the links of those participating? You’ve got some great stuff on your site and it was a pleasure to talk to you on youtube this morning!
Kimberly
I am very excited and challenged to take this 30 day challenge. Any call or encouragement to action is of benefit to all. I was just writing a article about a new paradigm of free enterprise “survival of the cooperative” as opposed to the old “survival of the fittest”, then came across your “tribe”. I will enjoy having stumbled across your path.
