If you are have a list, I am sure that by now, you have learned that you should have a text version of your broadcast. In Mailchimp, you actually have to have one.
In Aweber, you can skip it but there are two big reasons you should not:
- Some subscribers might not be able to see your HTML e-mail (if they open it on their cell phone, for example).
- HTML e-mails end up in spam folder more often.
If you have ever tried to copy and paste your HTML e-mail into the plain text e-mail, you know it needs some additional formatting. Sometimes, links can be too long for the e-mail width, so you will have to shorten them.
To save time, the most simple thing to do is just link to your HTML e-mail from the plain text version. Here is a video on how to do it:
