Brand your Emails, for Free!

In Branding, visibility is everything! Getting your brand seen and recognized is the key to branding anything. In social media and networking, self-branding means that you, as yourself, are the object both being branded and being the brand. The brand must be communicated thoroughly and consistently. We’ll cover more about branding later, but I wanted to pass along an awesome little tip/tool I found recently!

There’s a powerful Firefox Add-on, called WiseStamp This little utility lets you easily make and save HTML email signatures, containing a variety of optional social media links, for use in any web based email.

DemoGirl.com has an excellent Getting Started video of setting up WiseStamp below:

After you install it, and restart Firefox, it will be in the bottom right corner of your browser, like this:

Their FAQ covers a variety of troubleshooting methods as well as some great tips I hadn’t thought about for using this tool! Any of the samples seen on this page can be found free here, as a template to make a similar one. The templates let you get off to a fast start but I had a lot of fun creating my own! (I will say it helps to know a little bit of HTML if you want to do anything fancy without a template.) While it’s unlikely, if like me you were using plain-text email, you will need to set your web email client to use RTF (Rich Text) for this to be auto entered. Thanks to Wisestamp for use of their images, I’m really enjoying this cool little add-on!

Kimberly,
This is Awesome information. I've always had a cable service email provider set up through Outlook but I've been slowly migrating everything over the cloud. With Gmail I had to add in my signature manually but this little add on is great and the best part is it adds your other social site info as well. Quick to set up and easy to use.
Thanks!
Don

What a fabulous tool! I appreciate the demo video ~ it looks easy even for someone like me who is not very computer savvy! I've always personalized my signature, but really love the social media links feature.

Very cool, thanks so much Kimberly!

Kimberly
I love it, now that I am getting my head around social media I think it will be really neat to have all my social network info in my email signature. I am actually going to use it for my signature on the bottom of my posts instead of going and finding the HTML code each post.

Used it for 2-3 months and things were pretty well but since google started allowing HTML signatures, its now plain and simple. Wisestamp was difficult to use when you have more than one account and want different siggies on each.

Hi Kim,

I’ve worked before on a forex trading company and they believe that branding is the first step to improve their traffic, credibility and as well to build trust with their customers. I still want to read articles about branding for me to understand this subject more.

I discovered WiseStamp a few months ago and have been applying it for both personal and business signatures ever since. I especially love the live blog post link, great for a company to spread awareness. Thankfully, switching from one signature to the other is seamless now; for a while we were getting double inserts, which were very annoying, specially if you were in the middle of an email string.

Hi Kim,

You have a great newsletter, which is how I came across this post today. I’ve been using wise stamp for a few months now and love it. I get a lot of compliments from my photo and it just helps people connect with me more.

This is way cool and yet…change, it’s all about change…
OK, I’m switching over to FireFox like you recommended and I set up WiseStamp and everything BUT I use outlook to receive and send my emails. That way I have one easily accessible place where I can get all email from the 6 email accounts that I have and Outlook doesn’t connect to the internet like all the online emails do.
So as cool as it is, WiseStamp is something that I’m going to have to go without.

Hopefully you’re using the full version of Outlook (which comes with Microsoft Office) and not Outlook Express (which is prone to harboring infections)? The full version of outlook is pretty good but your right since its not web based you can not use Wisestamp. However I do recall that it allows for an html signature, so if you made a little signature with your links in wordpress and copied/pasted the html over you could still have something pretty nice if you wanted.

I have been using Wisestamp for several months now and love it. I get a lot of reaction, and it is a great way to be consistent with branding you and your business. The only thing is I wish they would finalize the application for IE. Then I will be very happy!

Thanks so much for sharing this Kim. I will be sure to share with my fan, followers and clients since you have included such an awesome training video!
