Business Success Roadtrip
What Drives You To Success?
Recently I announced that I had a major road trip planned which included the Savannah, GA Wordcamp and visiting with various friends and favorite places. You can find more about that here.
This roadtrip provided (cough cough) me with the pleasure (cough cough) of a 13hour one-way road trip. Actually it was 13 down and will probably be more than that coming back due to stops.
Each hour of the trip I documented my mindset and observations and how they relate to successful business development.
These video (visuals) are very poor but I was pleased with how the content came out. I intend to take all the eventual files and render them back to .mp3s and provide them as a free downloadable mp3 set that can be burned to CD for your own road trips.
When I was with one of my prior companies, we used audio CDs extensively as a way to rapidly pump a ton of training into our heads that was easy to use in a variety of locations including our home, mp3 player and car. Most in social media have gotten away from this approach in favor of webinars but not everyone can remain tethered to the pc especially while running the roads!
That company actually had a culture within our team of insisting upon we getting 3 hours of these business, leadership, mindset, recruiting, sales, development and more into our heads every day. A little like brainwashing, and I loathed it at the time, but looking back I know just how very powerful that team culture was for us and how much I grew.
I came in with a lot of useful skills and theories already in my head but it really was this that made me ready and able to get out here and rock and roll and I find myself going back to those disks now to keep my head together (which is not easy out here!)
I hope you’ll enjoy these as videos even with the poor visual quality and let me know your thoughts on a audio cd. I cant work on those from here (I’m still on the road) but I wanted to start sharing these with you!
Each track is about 10 minutes long give or take:
Hour 0 – New Phases Are Key To Business Momentum
Hour 1 – Giving Is Key, So Give Freely
Hour 2 – Dreams & Dreads
Hour 3 – Fast Running Leaders
Hour 4 – Course Corrections
Hour 5 – How Do You Drive?
Hour 6 – Tough Love
Hour 7 – Initial Business Traction
Hour 8 – Will You Get In The Game?
Hour 9 – Are You Strangling Your Business?
Hour 10 – The Human Factor
Hour 11 – The Home Stretch
Hour 12 – Pre-Landing Flight Checklist
Hour 13 – WrapUp
Here’s to your unlimited success!

I have to say it is an absolute rarity to get me to a live webinar these days. I am someone that always watched the recorded version just due to time restrictions, and I also find I can FF through any of hte stuff I dont want to hear lol
Love this idea of the audio, I always DL things to my iPod and listen while im walking, great for clearing my mind and really taking things in. Looking forward to your series
cheers
Nat

Thanks hun! The new haircut is going to take some time to get used to! I totally hear you about the scheduling issues with live webinars. However, even webinars can be a pain when they’re used for mindset topics that do not require visuals. Then it becomes the question of “why am I sitting at this computer”? LOL Once I render these to audio I’d like to get some feedback from everyone on how they like them and Ill probably try to target some more stuff that way. I actually said I wasn’t bringing mindset topics back to this blog – but this series is a little different than what I’ve done previously and serves a couple purposes. Whether I’ll continue to occasionally cover those topics will really depend on reception.
Thanks!
Kimberly
PS – I havent had a chance to tell you recently but you rock!

Awesome my friend. Just what I needed to HEAR today. Reading is different than video. This really stuck in my head while I was in a whirlwind. Many Thanks once again,
Hugs,
Donna
P.S. O.K. Everyone is doing the video in the car thing. I don’t drive. Should I construct a hat with my flip cam hanging off a stick while I walk? Tee Hee

The idea of listening to ideas and concepts in the form of mp3 is a great idea. One can listen. A person might not agree with the type of concept. Or the pragmatism but it will surely bring up various other ideas otherwise we get brainwashed which is also good. Thank you Kim for the lessons! I personally believe in giving thought. Be generous in giving! Hope the trip is doing well for you.
Yes it is true that the brainwashing is possible if we listen to something over and over and again. I remember when I was young, cd players were new. My father bought a cd player but not cds. Someone gave us a cd to listen to, It was a motivational speech. We were fancied by the player that we had to play that speech without any choice. So, we played it again and again. I remember every word spoken even now. I remember the music too. I like the way that you develop business models looking at everyday life. I agree that the answers, principles of life can be adapted anywhere.
Hey Kim, you had revolutionized the business industry with some soulful thoughts. Yea, experiences which we got from our natural way of living style is indeed priceless, as it serves as a trigger and a key to our successful lives, to live, to talk and to behave. I got that, natural feel from your videos to proceed my business with lucrative business deals literally. Thank you!
