Converting Written Text Into Audio
To convert any post that’s on the web, my favorite tool is SoundGecko, which is a freemium tool.
Visit Sound Gecko here. (aff)
If a file is NOT web-linkable but I can copy paste the text, then a tool like YakiToMe or such is a great alternative for handling PDFs (just copy and paste in the text).
Keep in mind none of these tools can do a decent job with visually rich media because… well.. that’s how audio is.
I like alternatives that let you select male or female voices and even better when we can select for certain accents though not all tools have that many alternate voices.
If you don’t need audio and just want to read the online post a lot faster than you usually can, then check out Squirt which is an innovative way to rapidly read content.
I have a history of eye trouble so these methods let me reduce eye strain while still quickly getting through the content I need to consume.
Do you have any favorite audio tools? Let me know!
