Tell Facebook “followers” to take a hike!
About a year or so ago, Facebook introduced the “Subscribers” feature (now called “Followers”) to our Facebook profiles.
Many people – particularly marketers – rushed to turn that on.
Once the name was changed, the feature tools got moved around and it can be hard to figure out where to go to change its settings.

In addition, in your settings panel, your link to adjust the follower/subscriber settings is:
On this page you can change:
1) Who can follow you: Friends or Everyone
2) Who can comment on your public posts
3) Whether you get notifications of new followers
To “disable” the public scope of “Followers” simply shift “Who can follow you” from Everyone down to “Friends”.
