Gmail “Hack” (Trick)
Need a couple free accounts from a service that you don’t need the advanced features of but do need multiple accounts?
Want to sign up for a list but want to be able to keep track of where they got your email address from?
Simply add +identifier to your email address on signup. Most web forms and signup forms will accept this (Discover card will throw a fit, as will some others.)
So, for example, I have identifiers for all of my main websites, and it gives me this:
What’s neat about this with Gmail is that you can have as many as you want, and they all still go to your existing Gmail account. There are lots of reasons you may want this (as it helps figure out where someone who is spamming you got ahold of your email address from if you sign up to lists with unique identifiers).
You can create these dynamically, the moment you need them, just type them in, and Gmail will handle them automatically without you having to configure anything in your Gmail settings.
