Watch out BlogEngage Community, I’m Moving In!
If you’ve had a chance to follow my discussions about first the Tribe Syndication Communities and then about the DoFollow Community and the “I Comment Back” and then about the CommentLuv Community…. you may have already concluded that I enjoy communities of like-minded people where I can build, generate depth, share and socialize all at the same time!
I’m always on the lookout for these types of hot communities, sites and social networks.
I, like you, however, only have so many hours in the day!
Because of this annoying little fact, I tend to scout the edges of a community, watching them from afar while I get other more pressing work done, before making up my mind if they are worth my time to get involved.
The newest such community that I’ve decided to add to my list is the BlogEngage community!
BlogEngage is one part social network (profiles), one part community (forum), and one part voting/ranking site! It’s an interesting community of bloggers working together to share, interact and network.
If you’ve been wondering what the little green/blue “vote” button is in my Digg Digg share button set, it’s the BlogEngage counter. Displaying either their image, logo or counter on your site is required. Fortunately, Digg Digg has it built-in! (You don’t need their other codes or plugins to get compliant.)
For those of us who are primarily internet marketers, I want to be very clear about the distinction that while many of these individuals are using various tactics to monetize their blog, very few are truly internet marketers and even less as far as I can tell are network marketers. This is jumping in the heart of the BLOGGING community not the MARKETING community.
While they work hard to promote each other and their best work, coming in here with a marketing mindset – rather than a relationship building mindset will have you stick out like a sore thumb (and likely banned).
I’ll do a tutorial later on how to get started with them if you haven’t already because it’s a little convoluted. While I missed a step and got confused during the invite request phase, which frustrated me, I honestly consider the effort required to get INTO this community an exceptionally good thing. A bit of effort required hazing makes for tighter more dedicated communities. Don’t let the effort required put you off from getting behind closed doors here.
One more thing that’s really sexy is that, like ShoutMeLoud which I mentioned previously, BlogEngage is a Google Adsense Revenue Sharing Community. What that means is that you have the potential to earn cash for the ads run over your excerpt on their site. Base is 50% of the earning and through some additional steps you can get up to 100%! Want to generate some Adsense revenue but don’t want to clutter your site with it? Check out all these Google Adsense Revenue Sharing communities!
So, as I said in the title above, I’ve recently joined them, got approved, got my profile set up and was able to submit my first article link (and vote on at least two others that is required for submission). I submitted my Top 10 Must Have Plugins for WordPress because that post is strong enough to carry itself when faced with readers that don’t already know me.
I look forward to seeing you in the BlogEngage community! Let me know when you join and start sharing links there so I can find and give them a thumbs up! I’d appreciate the same favor! (Feel free to drop my your BE link with your comment so we can find your submission/profile!)
Have you had a chance to check out BlogEngage yet? Love it? Hate it? I want to hear about it below!
