Are Your Facebook™ Posts Seemingly Invisible Lately?
Or just getting a lot less engagement on them than you used to? Even though you’ve added more friends?
You’re not alone!
One of the biggest MYTHs marketers on Facebook believe is that “more friends is better.”
That couldn’t be further from the truth!
News feeds space is at a premium today and that means that Facebook is ONLY going show your posts that get a high percentage of engagement out to those who are most likely to engage with it.
So Facebook relies on your posts having a high percentage of engagement and anything that dilutes that is going to hurt your visibility.
Facebook also keeps track of those who do and do not actively engage with your stuff and after a while inactive friends simply are not shown your content and they stop contributing to the good (engagement) and only contribute to the bad (inactive percentage).
Unfortunately, if you’ve looked for apps like this before, you know the market is full of old broken apps that don’t work (because they violated Facebook TOS), or because their developer couldn’t keep up with FB changes (no funding model), or they do a lot of spammy nefarious behavior and STILL don’t work!
That’s why I came across Friend Sweeper, a very cool new(er) tool by Robert Mercado, that is not only stable and works great but is Facebook TOS compliant. Plus, it’s a web app so it doesn’t matter if you’re a Mac or PC.
That stuff’s important! None of us want to lose our accounts (or our cool tools) with half-rate crap apps.
I purchased this and am using it myself and am really enjoying it!
Introducing Friend Sweeper
First I’m going to let Robert walk you through an introduction to the app (I snagged his sales page video) and then I’m going to take you on a walk-through.
(I placed a stop-marker on the video so it would pause at the end of his demo.)
A Behind The Scenes Walk-Through With Kim
That gives you a pretty solid overview of what this inactive Facebook friend removal app can do (and why) but if you want to take a deeper behind the scenes view, join me in this FriendSweeper walk-through!
One note is that the app can now only do 30 days of past post engagement review because of a change Facebook made to their API. Sometimes Facebook seems to do its best to make it hard for us to make good decisions!
You have a couple different purchasing options with this app
- Upsell option to upgrade to a VIP account (among other upsells)
- Option to upgrade to a lifetime account (saw this one time after purchase)
- $27/month regardless of friend count (includes unlimited reports and all future updates to the software)

One Time Access
- Upsell option to upgrade to a VIP account (among other things
- $47 single-pay (1000 friends, report run limits) or $97 single-pay (5000 friends, unlimited reports, lifetime updates, normally $497)

A Look At My Account
In my initial 30 day reports, I was looking at about 1100 friends, with about 150-200 actively engaged in the last 30 days, and with a very disheartening 800+ that were very very un-engaged.
Unlike older apps – that we’d all grown to hate – Friend Sweeper Inactive Friend Remover doesn’t just rush us off to dump all of those inactives… at a serious consequence!
You get several really nifty views of your actively engaged friends including this one:
The app has an intelligent system of “Safe List” that lets you mark additional friends who should not be removed. You’ll start by safe-listing your engagers (obviously, right?) and then you’ll move on to scrolling through your inactives and safe-listing your important business and family connections.
It’s this system of Safe Listing… which is stored on the server and not wiped out month to month.. that really gives you the power you need to remove inactive Facebook friends safely and confidently without having to fear that it’s going to “eat” your best friends account!
Facebook TOS Compliant – For Your Safety!
The app isn’t going to “eat” anyone, technically, as the app is fully compliant with Facebook’s “no mass unsubscribe automation” rules… but don’t panic because there’s a cool way around that!
The app makes it easy for you to manually unfriend those who are inactive or – check this out – VIP members can simply pass the problem off to a FriendSweeper staff member who will do it for you! You’ve got a built in virtual assistant to save you tons of time!
And if you’re concerned about relying on Robert’s fully vetted VIP staff to handle the unfriending for you… just do it yourself… as the app makes it quite straight forward.

Pros & Cons Insights
- Really Easy To Use
- Great Safe-Listing System
- Lifetime purchase options
- It’s not free (which means it will likely still be around in several years when you still need it)
- Some bugs in the interface (see walkthrough) but doesn’t affect it’s core job
- It’s not free (which means it’s not free LOL)
All in all, I’ve been very happy with this purchase and I definitely suggest you check out FriendSweeper if you need a nice way to get a handle on run-away Facebook friend numbers without equally strong engagement.
Even with it’s couple interface quirks, there’s simply no reason that it won’t do the job.
I’m liking it well enough that I’m contemplating upgrading to an agency account so that we can use this with all of my clients – how cool would that be??
