Kimberly,
This is awesome, thanks for your leadership! Facebook is such a valuable site but they change so often it’s hard to keep up with what is important. I will definitely be implementing lists to control who sees which posts.
Have a powerful week! Allegra

Yeah the Facebook changes are enough to drive even a lunatic batty! I need to cover lists more in depth but currently if I leave them open for more than a few minutes they flake my browser out. Facebook will be more stable in a week or two… they’re always a little flakey after a major upgrade. Glad you enjoyed it, keep me posted how it works for ya!
Thanks Kimberly,
I was just thinking about this. I have had my daughter and niece posting so much stuff on my page, so now I have the answer. Before, I was hiding people from the family because it took up so much space.
Another great Idea. Will put it into action tomorrow Thanks Again

Donna, thanks for the comment!
I’m wondering if I have you slightly confused. This method controls who sees YOUR posts. This for example can be used to prevent your mom from seeing something your write to your business colleages and post on your own wall. This is about what YOU post.
Regarding what your daughter and niece are posting from their own accounts (which is ending up on your wall and potentially your profile as well since now apps behave spammy), out on the newsfeed you can either hide the application, or hide the person. If its showing up on your profile, if you click the tiny link to the application under the post, you can go to the a pp and block the app (in the upper left).
I have a post on how to fix the facebook live feed that still works but I will probably redo soon now that it is not called live feed anymore. The facebook purity script I mention there is a absolute must have for making that news feed/wall where it shows everyone useful again!
Hope this helps!
Kimberly
Fantastic info! I’ve been wondering if there was a feature like this. Looks like you can do the same thing with your photo albums, too!
.-= Teresa´s last blog ..Nurturing Your Sixth Senses =-.
Yeah, pretty much everything profile related can be filtered like this in terms of preventing others from seeing it. The same is NOT true of our pages however which have very limited filtering options. This is a really powerful tool! Glad you enjoyed it!
This is so cool Kim,
I certainly wished I had known about this before some of my family opted out of facebook because of all the business posts.
I will certainly be using this
thanks again Kim

Hi Kimberly
Thanks for making this video!
I had heard there was a way that this could be done, however, I hadn’t delved any further into finding out how. I’d forgotten about it again until I saw this post of yours, so I will be putting into practice from now on.
Keep up the great work – you’re a terrific teacher

Hey Kim,
Quick question. If you post something only to family, then that goes on their wall correct? So does that mean that anyone who happens to visit their wall will see the post? Or only the person? I hope I’m making sense.

Hy, kim that’s really nice video. Many people need that type of privacy on their facebook post.
Hi Kim ~ Thanks for touching on this subject, and am glad to share your post with my friends because this is a topic that although I’m familiar with (and have been using for quite a while now) many of my friends inquire from me time to time about how I can insure that only certain individuals I am connect with on FB profile can see certain posts/information I have shared.
Christine
Great tip Kim and the blog looks great as well need some tips on how to set mine up like this. Thanks for your excellent way of explaining and breaking this down. Look forward to reading more post.

HELP!!! Such a great video….I want to do this, but I can’t find the list…I thought I saw it..could I have clicked it away?? Can you pls help me?
Is this s thesis theme?? would love to know
Hey Olga, Yes my site is running thesis theme.
Regarding Facebook, you have to have made a list first, before you can include or exclude that list. I assume you have made them? I need more info to figure out where you’re stuck!
Kimberly
Thank you Kim for getting back to me; it’s working. I am soooo glad I found this video…I will be back here for some more information. Thanks!
Hi Kim, thanks for the super simple video. I did know about the option to share posts ‘selectively’ but was too lazy too implement the knowledge as soon as I learned it and consequently, I had forgotten.
Thanks for the easy, step by step tutorial – I have it now
Hi Kim,
Wow, I didn’t even know this option on face book existed! You’ve just solved a huge bugbear for me. Lately there has been a lot of business content I’ve not wanted to share with family, but I just didn’t know how to filter them out. Well now I know, thanks so much for all the awesome tips you give out.
Yaay! Yet another great post. Found this via Gavin Mountford (thanks Gavin!)
What a hot tip this IS Kim. I’ve had many things I only care to share with only my family, or ONLY my friends, and of course ONLY my biz partners or followers. I often times feel afraid and resistant to post certain articles, etc…since even though I know I enjoy the content and my followers will enjoy it, I know that I have more than a handful of friends that look at me like “this girl is getting annoying!” haha
It’s funny but I feel their frustration. And I don’t want to be know as the “yeah yeah same old info boring gal…”
Thanks for reminding me about this feature Kim! It was right under my nose the whole time and I just forgot all about it. Hot, hot, hot!
And thanks for making such a straight forward and super easy to understand tutorial on how this is done!
