How to Connect With
Your Niche Audience
Once you have a niche and your website is up, the next step will be to start creating content and connecting with your audience. This is important because you want to build a following. You want people to trust you as a resource.
Who Is Your Audience?
It’s often a mistake to assume you are you r audience. Giada DeLaurentis, for example, created a cooking show. Much to her surprise it was very popular not amongst middle aged women but rather college aged boys were a very large viewing audience.
So know who you’re marketing too. I imagine Giada would have structured her show differently if she knew her primary audience was going to be men and I’m sure the advertisers would have been different!
What Your Voice and/or Brand Will Be.
Many internet marketers use what’s called “personality marketing.” It is essentially using your personality to brand your business. Your personality will be most commonly communicated in your content. Use it to bond with your readers or viewers depending on the content.
So what is voice? It’s the tone and personality of your content. Are you silly, sarcastic, controversial, friendly, wise, or crazy?
Where Is Your Audience?
One thing that many site owners find today is that their audience hangs out in a number of places. Besides your blog or website, pay attention to expanding your reach in the social sites where your audience spends time. Don’t try to force your readers to come to you. If your audience is on a platform, you need to try to meet them there.
What Does Your Reader Want?
What information, resources, or solutions does your reader want? What can you provide them that will motivate them to come back to your website again and again? Provide them with the information, material and solutions they need and you’ll build credibility and trust – two keys to online success.
Of course this really is just the beginning. There’s a lot that goes into the content planning and creation for your niche website.
