Recognize Top Fans!

Now you can easily identify & give kudos (or more) to the LOYAL community that makes up your Facebook page wile letting them “compete” for the top honors!

I’m always on the lookout for hot Facebook applications. When I came across this one, and realized the impact it would have on Facebook’s EdgeRank (visibility for your page), I got super excited!

Booshaka’s Top Fans Application for Facebook

The have a free and a pro version and I’m going to give you a look at the free account in it’s default setup. You can have the Top Fans app up and running with very little work.

First head out to Brooshaka’s Top Fan App website and register for an account. Connect it to your Facebook page… and then heed the warning that you’re going to need a couple days before you’ll want to actually add the tab as the data won’t be fully counted yet. They’ll send you an email to remind you.

Once added, the app “works right out of the box” so to speak.

Something we as page owners have missed is a good way to keep track of what fans are the most passionate… and now you can easily tell!

(Note: This can not identify tags or shared links to the page from someone’s profile.)

The pro version gives you easy ways to run reward-system type projects off this platform, but you can just as easily do it manually as long as you remember to check it at the end of the month. It also however grants extended analytics and other tools as well.

Not shown is the text field that can be added to the top of the app (in settings) that lets you write in anything you want (such as what reward you plan to give the top fan of the month). Use this creatively!

You may chose to recognize the fan, you may reward them with a product, service or consultation, or you may reward them in some other way, the possibilities are limitless. You do however have to be careful about FB’s contest rules which can get your page banned if you run a contest outside of being fully contained in an application such as this (use the pro version for contests).

This app is well designed to be aware of EdgeRank as well as it keeps the traffic within your page, requires no app approval by fans, and does not link out to other random places. It also gives points for the items that build your EdgeRank.

Now you win.. and fans win!

While it may not be appropriate for some pages (either due to topic, niche or relatively inactive), this app is going to be a win for a LOT of pages!

Check out the Top Fans App at Booshaka’s website!

What’s your favorite unique Facebook application? Are you building a community around your Facebook page? What kind of rewards would you like to see me make available in the future to Top community members on the fan page?

Hi Kim, Hugh and I are working on our 2 Like Page on facebook… It’s a work in progress as we started before the CT blackout and it’s been on hold for a little while… We are creating a page for The Women ofFB and Nathalie and Hugh… I think it’s super important to have a profesional Like Page and a nice offer… Thanks for introducing me to this new app…I think I( would love to add it to The Women of FB and have contests like giving a poster to my Top fan or something like that….As far as for Nathalie and Hugh page… I’m not sure when I would install the app…I think I would like to grow our page before I add it… I think that the app is great for a page that is already established but I’m not sure how it would look on a page someone is just starting to build like ours… Thanks Kim! Great information!

Post photos or videos, rather than just text updates. These tend to keep people looking longer, and Facebook likes “eyeball time.” Leave (and hopefully receive) comments. Comments take longer to write, showing more interest, and longer to read than a Like click, which is again “eyeball time.”

I tried out a couple but nothing that was even halfway reliable. If you don’t need it on facebook itself and just want it for your personal information, then Crowdbooster.com has some similar stats.

I certainly like the sound of the app, thanks Kim, I’ll give a run on my Blazing Minds page and see how it goes, I have an app I’m using at the moment that picks a fan of the week, but this one you’ve brought to my attention looks better ;)
