Brand, New Biz Bloggers, Take Heart!
This article is dedicated to the brand, new business blogger. We have all been where you are, and if you are feeling like you will never reach the place where you can call blogging your career… …please take hope.
Today’s article is going to help you dispel all of those fears. There is no reason in this world why you have to feel overwhelmed by all that is in front of you. All of us who are successful bloggers had to start, too, and today you are in luck.
I am going to share some information that will help you shortcut going through the process to becoming proficient in our industry.
By the end of this article, you’ll be able to go back to your blog and implement what I have written so that you can confidently move forward as a business blogger each and every day!
New Biz Bloggers Should Realize That Niches Aren’t Discovered Overnight
When I first started blogging for business, I just KNEW that I was going to target military spouses. I dropped that pretty quickly. Quite frankly, I was not that interested in exclusively writing to the community of women connected to the military
Additionally, it was hard to stay excited when my husband was not as excited as I was – and he is in the Army! I cannot recall my next niche, but I left it, too. In fact, I left all my niches, and all the blogs I built and every domain I purchased until I bought my own name as a domain and started writing there.
Once I began blogging on my own name, I found my home…and my niche discovered ME! Over time, I found myself writing about that which interests me most – family/relationships, creative writing, and marketing.
(Not sure what a niche is? This will help you with the niche marketing jargon.)
Today, I am comfortable in my niche, and people are clear on what to expect from me.
New Biz Blogger Takeaway: Start writing consistently on what you are interested in – or what you are NOT interested in – and allow your niche to find you in time. The organic way is a good way for bloggers to follow. It’s natural, stress-free, and it works 100% of the time if you surrender to the process of niche discovery.
There are literally thousands of niches, with more than 75 in internet marketing sub-niches alone, and it takes time to naturallly sort out which one is going to be the best for YOU!
The Second Thing That New Biz Bloggers Should Do Is Blog – Often!
Maybe you have read or heard this previously, but it’s the truth. You cannot get better at blogging for your business if you are not blogging – all the time!
There is a camp that says you should write every day, and there is another camp that says 3-4 times per week is fine. It seems everyone has an opinion about how often you should blog. I want to say that, when you first start blogging, you need to write daily. I sometimes wrote twice per day!
I only slowed down a bit once I had 25 articles on my site.
The reason for this is that, the more you write, the easier it is for you to understand what does and does not work for you. You can get your mistakes out of the way quickly.
By writing a lot, you can also encounter your niche sooner. Here is the only thing: Write on what interests you…and on nothing else! This is so important, because if you are trying to be like anyone else, you’ll have trouble discovering your, authentic voice quickly. This voice is what the marketplace needs.
New Blogger Takeaway #2: The more you blog about your business, the better you will get at it. The better you get at business blogging, the easier it will be for you to write with authority and watch your traffic grow and income increase. The first step to those, two things is blogging a lot.
Now, go, blog!!
