WordPress Post Scheduler
Whether you are setting up a post series, preparing content for a vacation break, or just need to ensure a post schedules at a specific time… here’s how to schedule a post in WordPress!
The post scheduler can be used to not only schedule posts into the future but also to back-date them as well!

If your scheduled posts tend to frequently report “missed schedule” you may find that WP-Cron Control solves that for you. (This plugin is co-developed by the team at Automattic so should be very stable.)
Extensive post scheduling is best managed with an editorial calendar and for that, I prefer the WordPress Editorial Calendar plugin.
I tend to write and schedule posts in advance. Then, as breaking current news happens, I use the Editorial Calendar, to simply drag and drop the scheduled post to a better date.
This frees up the current day(s) for publishing the breaking news as long as the scheduled content is not time sensitive.
