Here’s A Real Common and Easy To Fix
Problem With Gravatar Images
A gravatar is the fancy word standing for “graphical avatar” which in this case means the little picture that represents you next to your comments you leave on WordPress blogs.
Recently I received this great (and common!) question…
I have my gravatar set up so my picture shows when I visit other blogs but my picture does NOT show up on my own blog. Any idea why?

This is actually a really common problem so I’m glad you asked!
The way the gravatar.com account works is that it identifies you based on the email address you assigned to it.
So any time your email address you are commenting with changes – the darn thing stops working (because it no longer can find you in the list!).
This is often caused by people changing email addresses and forgetting to change their address in their gravatar.com profile.
However, sometimes, as in your case…. gravatar works everywhere but on our own blogs.
When that happens its almost always because the user account we are using on our blogs has the wrong email address assigned to it.
Fortunately that’s an easy fix.
Go into your dashboard (blog back-end) -> In the left sidebar, click on “Users” -> Now find your username in the list and click it -> now in the user settings, change your email address to match the email address you have assigned to gravatar (or go to gravatar and set it to that address and use that address when commenting elsewhere).
If you happen to have a need to have different email addresses in different places, the gravatar.com profile will allow you to “add an email address” and have more than one address on record that is connected to the same account and produces your picture when you use it!
That’s it! Generally that’s all you need to do!
