I love this Plugin!
I remember when commentluv came out. I tried it out with one blog, and eventually added to my other blogs. It’s a great way to recognize your visitors since they receive a linkback too. The improvements that Andy has made are great, since you can now select which post (out of 10) you’d like to link your comment too. Of course, you have to sign pp at the Comluv site to get that benefit.
After I install a WordPress Plugin I now run my url through a site validator, just to make sure everything is working fine, since bad coding can at times mess up your site, and your RSS feed too.

Yeah I’m seeing how useful feedvalidator.org is with this plugin. There are so many things that can give our feeds a hairball!
Have you looked at the upcoming commentluv gold? Its sexy and is essentially the commentluv, keywordluv, dofollow, top commentator stack, its gonna be hot!
Kimberly
Yep, I’ve saw ComLuv Gold mentioned on the ComLuv website. I’m really looking forward to getting it for my websites. The less addons I use, the happier I am.

Just what I had been looking for. I have this on my blog for my readers but for the life of me I can’t get it to work for me when I comment on people’s blog. I think it actually worked once. I deleted and re-entered my blog, I tried the ban url but just can’t get it to work. You have very valuable content on your blog. I did spend a considerable amount of time here today. I will check back to see if you have any suggestions for me to get com-luv working for me.
Brenda
I took a look at your credentials and I see its reporting feed errors. So I bounced to your blog, got your feed link, opened it (opens), ran it against a validator (it validates). However, I noticed when I went to add it to google reader, it passed off to an “ignition” link. http://www.google.com/reader/view/feed/http://www.brendaabraham.com/feed/?source=ignitionfork Are you running some other plugin or some feed redirect?
Kimberly
Thank you so much for taking the time to check. I have no idea what that means. “ignition” I have minimal plug-ins on my blog and no feed redirect.
Just a thought, you might want to uninstall all your plug-ins and enable them one at a time, run through http://blog.totalvalidator.com/ to see if you get any error message. A little over a week ago, I had the same problem too. I pinpointed mine to a Copyright Feed Plug in also Comment Remix.
Unfortunately, not all WordPlug Ins play nicely together.
Moondancer, thanks for the suggestion. The thought of removing my plugs and reinstalling is causing me great stress. (lol) lazy me. What other tricks you have up your sleeve?
Try just deactivating them. Deactivating will save all of their settings (except that you will have to re-enable super cache if you have it running). Usually deactivating will turn up the issues that deleting would. (Not always but usually). Deactivate them all and then test. If that solves the problem, then you know its plugin related. Then reactivate them one at a time till you find the bugger that breaks things.

Hey Kim
I have to agree with you that CommentLuv is a must in the way of plug-ins. If you want to have a bit of a community start on your blog then I agree with you that this is a must. And I have to agree with your comment that it’s part of your top 10 plug-ins. It’s on my top 10 list as well.
Good call on helping out with some of the goofy things that happens with it too.
Thanks
Steve

Yeah getting a community jump start is something we’ve almost “got” to do or we are just spinning our wheels and talking to the air! LOL The expression of “People don’t care how much you know, till they know how much you care” comes to mind. This plugin lets us care about our commenters by giving them a backlink and also give us access to those links so we can easily get over to their sites and foster those relationships! Love the win/win!
Kimberly
Glad to have you point out how great Comment Luv is.
I know how critical you are about these things, so coming from you, it’s quite a testimonial for Comment Luv!
Thanks for always pointing us in the right direction, Kim.

LOL! I’m getting quite a reputation for that and I hope it’s a good thing!
I’m actually about to furthat that because I’ve been pulling some punches lately in favor of not being seen as negative but I’m getting really tired of people jacking around with my friends!
It’s about to get intersting. Thanks so much for all your support David, I know we dont get to interact as much as I’d like but it means a lot.

Hi Kimberly, love your blog. I have read about comment luv but not sure how it will help our photography site in the SERPS. I do understand that Dofollow backlinks are crucial to your SEO strategy. I suppose having a community of followers is great and any link is a good one. Thanks

I have also had commentluv on my blog for a while now. While i have seen a fare bit of traffic the one problem i have is i get 90% spam. Everyday i am deleting comments that have no relevance to my blog. I have no issues rewarding comments witha link as i believe natural flow of links is important but i only with comments would have some relevance to my post.
