Youtube Video Editor
Frees Up Creative Types
One of Youtube’s biggest bottle-necks, the inability to edit a video after it was uploaded, has recently made a change for the better!
You can now edit uploaded videos with YouTube. Just upload them as usual and press the “Edit Video” button to begin editing.
It’s worth noting that the video you are editing must have under 1,000 views. This protects the person that has marked that they like the video from something being added later that is offensive and may reflect badly.
The new basic video editor is related to their cloud based editor and allows you to select any eligible video and perform simple tasks such as trimming, rotation, stabilization or adjusting the color. Some neat filters also exist to give your videos some character.
Edited videos retain all of their original view count and the same URL so they will not break embedding.
While certainly not in the same class as even the basic Windows Movie Maker or iMovie, these tools are perfect for the average user and not intimidating for the beginner.
Combine this with the recently added ability to shoot a webcam based video right on Youtube (with no added software or uploading) and you have a very novice friendly environment for getting started with video marketing (or having fun!).
Have you checked out all the cool new toys over at Youtube lately? They really are developing into not only a simple but a well rounded solution with a high ease of use. What do you think about the new editing features? Look forward to sharing thoughts in the comments below!
