Youtube Ups The Game
Now Bulletin Broadcasts!
What if YouTube suddenly implemented a way that let you put your new video url and message in front of both owners and readers of other Youtube pages…
What if it were simple, easy to use and built right into the interface with no fancy extra software…
Would it significantly change the course of social media marketing on YouTube?
(You can click on the image above to see a fuller view)
Once you’re in your YouTube channel, near the top bar (which includes settings, themes, etc), you will now find a “Post Bulletin” tab.
According to YouTube:
A bulletin is an update you send from your Channel page to your subscribers. You can tell your subscribers about a video you’re working on, or include a link to a video you love with a comment about it. When you post a bulletin, it will appear:
- on your subscribers’ recent activity module (on the homepage)
- on your channel page in your recent activity module
You can learn more about YouTube Bulletins here.
In addition to bulletins from channels you are subscribed to appearing in YOUR recent activity list, the recent activity section also has a integrated bulletin send tool as well.
While perhaps it does not appear in the most visible place it could… its still incredibly cool and something we had zero access to prior.
What remains to be seen is whether these links will count as actual backlinks to the video, whether majority of YouTube channel visitors check out the channel’s recent activity feed (remember, it can be hidden too), and whether it will generate more click-through.
Definitely a feature I look forward to spending some time with (and another good reason to pay attention to building your SUBSCRIBER (rather than just your “friend”) numbers on YouTube.
Are you using YouTube as an integral part of your social strategy? Are you utilizing it as a true social platform or is it just a video host for you? What is your favorite tip or techique for utilizing YouTube? If you have a training video you have done on YouTube or video marketing feel free to add it as an extra link in your comments so we can all check it out!
Thanks in advance for your comments, shares and love!
